Besides avoiding animal cruelty for leather production, the fabric is developed with low water consumption, without toxic chemicals in its manufacturing process and without waste, since it is derived from a raw material that would be discarded, not to mention that it is a vegan and biodegradable product.

The manufacturing process up to your bike
After harvesting, the pineapple leaves that are left behind are collected and their long fibers are extracted using semi-automatic equipment. The fibers are then washed and dried naturally in the sun or in dry ovens in winter. They then undergo a purification process and are combined with corn-based polylactic acid (also used in beauty treatments in humans!) and undergo a mechanical process to create a felt. The rolls are then sent to Spain or Italy for fine finishing.
To reach the final product, the coloring process is done through pigments certified by GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) and with subsequent application of a resin coating (so it is 85% biodegradable) to give more durability, mechanical and water resistance.
Your Bike. Your Style!
There are 5 exclusive colors available in kits with handles or tapes. There are several possibilities for you to create unique versions of your RIVACycles.
Whether it is design, finish, exclusive colors or philosophy of life, Nana has arrived to rewrite with RIVACycles yet another page in the meaning of design and sustainability in urban bikes.

Nana: From the ancient Tupi (a Brazilian natives language), documented in Portuguese in the first half of the sixteenth century and in Spanish in the second (1578), means pineapple.
